In memoriam: Frecky (1927-2026)

My dear friend and mentor, Frederick Vreeland (Frecky), died January 25th in Rome. He was with his wife, Sandra Ann, and his two sons, Nicky and Alexander. I have many happy memories of Frecky. First, Santa Monica, then some at my house in France, my house on Maui, and at his former home in Marrakesh, Morocco. I remember first meeting him in Rome with his wife. One of the first things he said to me was, “You and Michelle must come to Marrakesh and stay for two weeks”. We did, and he brought his distinguished, creative older brother, Tim. Michelle and I still think about those two weeks with those two remarkable men in Frecky’s amazing house. (Edited by intern, Elaina Criddle).
